The vehicles, part of Baidu’s Apollo Go service, are equipped with advanced safety features and have already proven successful in China.
The initial trial phase will gather data and assess performance, with the aim of expanding to a fleet of 1,000 autonomous taxis within three years.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director General of the RTA, emphasized that this initiative aligns with Dubai’s Smart Self-Driving Transport Strategy, which seeks to convert 25% of all trips in the city to autonomous journeys by 2030.
The agreement marks a significant step in enhancing Dubai’s global leadership in autonomous mobility.
Baidu’s Apollo Go, known for its extensive autonomous operations in multiple Chinese cities, aims to integrate smart mobility solutions globally.
