Passports Directorate Begins Issuing Makkah Entry Permits for Expat Workers During Hajj

The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has announced that it is now receiving applications and issuing electronic entry permits for expatriates intending to work during the upcoming Hajj season.

These permits are available through the Ministry of Interior’s electronic platforms, Absher Individuals and the Muqeem portal.

Streamlined Application Process

Expatriates working for Hajj-related activities will not need to visit Jawazat offices in person to obtain their permits, thanks to the technical integration with the Tasreeh platform.

This newly launched unified digital platform facilitates the issuance of Hajj permits.

Eligibility and Document Requirements

The Absher Individuals platform allows for the issuance of permits for various categories, including:

  • Domestic workers
  • Dependents
  • Premium Residency holders
  • Investors
  • Mothers of citizens
  • Citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries

Applicants must attach the required documents when applying for their permits.

Muqeem Portal for Makkah-Based Workers

Entry permits for workers employed at Makkah-based establishments can be obtained through the Muqeem portal.

This includes holders of seasonal work visas and those who have signed employment contracts for the Hajj season.

Tasreeh Platform Overview

The Tasreeh unified digital platform, launched in partnership with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), is designed to issue licenses and permits that authorize both domestic and international pilgrims, as well as workers and volunteers involved in Hajj activities, to enter Makkah and the holy sites. Users can also view their permits through the comprehensive national application Tawakkalna.

This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of the Hajj process and ensure a smooth experience for all participants.
