Residents and citizens of Qatar can apply for a health card to access services at any healthcare facility or hospital operated by Hamad Medical Corporation.

The health card is the size of a driving license and includes your ID number, nationality, photo, and issue date. It is available to all Qatar residents.

While consultations or non-emergency treatments may incur additional costs, those with a valid health card will receive subsidies.

Cardholders can also fill prescriptions at government pharmacies at reduced rates.

To obtain a health card, visit the nearest Primary Health Care Center (PHCC) and complete the necessary forms. You will receive a PHCC health file number.

Required documents include:

  • Qatari Adults: Passport or ID copies, a passport-sized photo (4cm x 3cm), and a QR50 fee.
  • Qatari Children: Birth certificate with Qatar ID number or passport, a passport-sized photo, vaccination card (for first issue), and a QR50 fee.
  • GCC National Adult Residents: Passport or ID with Qatar ID number, a passport-sized photo, old health card (if renewing), and a QR50 fee.

  • Domestic Staff: Valid passport with residence permit, a passport-sized photo, original QID of sponsor, and a QR50 fee (for approved professions).
  • All Applicants: A copy of a utility bill (phone, water, or electricity) to verify your address.

Payment must be made by credit card; cash is not accepted. The health center will either issue your card immediately or request that you return it in a few days to pick it up.
