Saudi Citizen Sentenced to Seven Years in Kuwait

A Saudi citizen has been sentenced to seven years in prison with hard labor and fined 336,000 Kuwaiti dinars (approximately Dh4 million) by a Kuwaiti criminal court. He was convicted for forging a naturalization application to unlawfully obtain Kuwaiti citizenship and secure a position in the Ministry of Defence.

Arrest and Investigation
He was arrested at the Salmi border crossing while attempting to flee the country. Authorities found both a Saudi ID and a Kuwaiti civil ID in his possession.
Investigations revealed he was trying to escape due to mounting financial obligations and unpaid bank loans.
Additional Sentences
In addition to the main defendant, the court sentenced the Kuwaiti citizen who aided in the scheme and the Saudi man’s biological father to seven years each for their roles in the fraud.
The court emphasized that the defendants had committed a blatant attack on national identity and tampered with official documents, undermining state sovereignty.
