Saudi authorities have intensified efforts against fraudulent Hajj operations, arresting several individuals involved in promoting fake campaigns on social media.

Arrests and Charges

  • The Public Security Directorate apprehended suspects for:
    • False Advertising: Promoting fake services including accommodation and transportation within holy sites.
    • Unauthorized Rituals: Offering to perform Hajj rituals on behalf of others.
    • Sacrificial Animals: Providing and distributing sacrificial animals without authorization.
    • Fake Wristbands: Selling unauthorized seasonal wristbands.

All arrested individuals have been referred to the Public Prosecution following the completion of legal procedures.

Official Hajj Procedures

The Ministry emphasizes the importance of using official channels:

  • Domestic Pilgrims: Must obtain Hajj permits through the Nusuk platform.
  • International Pilgrims: Must secure a Hajj visa via authorized Saudi authorities, coordinated through the Tasreeh platform.

Sacrificial Animals and Charity Offerings

  • The Saudi Project for the Utilization of Hady and Adahi is the official authority for sacrificial services. Purchases and tracking can be done through its official website or by calling the unified service number (920020193).

Reporting Fraudulent Activities

Authorities encourage citizens and residents planning to perform Hajj to:

  • Follow official procedures strictly.
  • Report suspicious activities or fraudulent campaigns by calling:
    • (911) in Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions.
    • (999) in other areas of the Kingdom.

Official Hajj Channels

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has reiterated that:

  • Official Hajj travel can only be conducted through valid Hajj visas issued via designated Saudi agencies across 80 countries or through direct bookings on the Nusuk Hajj platform for pilgrims from approximately 126 countries.
  • For domestic pilgrims, the only recognized channels for booking Hajj packages are the electronic track on the Ministry’s official website and the Nusuk app. Any information circulating outside these platforms is misleading and not endorsed by official authorities.
