Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei emphasized the necessity for updated policies and legislation surrounding vehicle ownership and registration.

He noted that the issue has been included in the UAE Government’s Annual Meetings to enhance coordination with local authorities.

The proposed measures include improving road corridors connecting Dubai with other emirates, developing new roadways, and better integrating public transportation systems.

Al Mazrouei assured that a comprehensive plan is being crafted in collaboration with local entities to address the traffic crisis.

Concerns about the rising vehicle numbers were highlighted, with FNC member Adnan Al Hammadi citing that commuters are losing an average of 460 hours annually due to traffic delays.

Al Hammadi urged for immediate solutions, pointing out that many employees are forced to wait in mosques and cafes to avoid congestion during peak hours.

The ministry has initiated development work on key federal corridors, with a firm commitment to resolving the ongoing traffic issues affecting commuters between Dubai and Sharjah.
