Qatar: Hamad International Airport to restrict access to curbside pick-up and drop-off
Hamad International Airport (HIA) issued an advisory informing passengers and customers that it will start testing the concept of limiting the access to the curbsides of the departures and arrivals to only authorized vehicles and diverting all general public vehicles to use the available car park facilities for passenger pick-up and drop-off. The trials will begin on June 13, 2022, at 10 am.
“During the trials period, and for the convenience of our customers, Hamad International Airport shall offer grace period of twenty minutes, without charge to ease passenger drop off and pick-up within the Short Term Car Park,” HIA said.
Payment for short term car parking must be made at the machines located before the carpark, on level 2. There are no payment options available at the exit of the car park. In order to avoid delays or inconvenience, pay at the building before exiting towards the parking.
“This is being done in the interest of customer experience, safety and security,” it added.
