In a recent social media campaign, Dubai Police shared a video compilation showcasing several incidents of speeding vehicles in the left lane of highways, illustrating how quickly reckless driving can lead to dangerous situations.

The police reiterated that while the left lane is typically reserved for faster-moving vehicles, this does not justify exceeding speed limits.

Motorists caught overspeeding can face fines up to Dh2,000 and accumulate 12 black points on their driving record.

The UAE has implemented strict traffic regulations to enhance safety, and residents are encouraged to report violations through the ‘Police Eye’ feature on the Dubai Police app.

These measures are part of ongoing efforts to deter reckless driving and promote safer roads for all users in the UAE.
