Dubai: The UAE has officially launched applications for its 10-year Blue Residency Visa, specifically targeting environmental experts and advocates.
This initiative, first announced in May 2024, aims to attract professionals in sustainability, climate change, and energy sectors to bolster the country’s environmental, economic, and social development.

Eligible applicants include distinguished scientists, researchers, and members of international organizations focused on environmental issues.
To apply, candidates must submit their applications through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) via its online platform.
Key requirements include proof of significant contributions to environmental protection, a valid passport, and recent photographs.
Applicants must first secure a nomination, which costs Dh350, before proceeding with the visa application process.
This visa reflects the UAE’s commitment to fostering expertise in environmental sustainability and addressing global climate challenges.
