Saudi Red Crescent to Introduce First Aid Training in Secondary Schools

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority has announced that first aid will be introduced into the secondary school curriculum starting from the 2025-2026 academic year.

The move, developed in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the National Curriculum Center, aims to equip students with life-saving skills and raise awareness about the importance of first aid in emergency situations.

Empowering the next generation

Officials described the initiative as a qualitative shift in education, preparing a generation capable of responding quickly and effectively to emergencies, while strengthening community safety. It aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s goal of building a healthy and resilient society.

Students will learn to handle injuries such as bleeding, fractures, burns, thermal shock, and fainting, as well as perform CPR and emergency aid for both children and adults.

The program also encourages professional interest in the health sector, supporting the development of national emergency services.

Interactive and practical learning
The curriculum has been designed in an innovative, hands-on style that follows international best practices.

Delivered as part of the optional track, it emphasizes practical application to ensure students can confidently use first aid skills in real-life situations.

The Saudi Red Crescent stressed that it will continue working with education authorities to develop health-related curricula, reinforcing youth preparedness and contributing to the Kingdom’s progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
