The new stations feature several upgrades modeled after enhancements made at Bur Dubai and Old Deira Souq stations.

These improvements prioritize the preservation of cultural identity while introducing modern amenities for users, including expanded shaded waiting areas and retail outlets for abra riders.

As part of the RTA’s Marine Transport Strategic Plan 2020–2030, the upgrades aim to advance the marine transport system, promoting it as a key mode of mobility in Dubai. During the first half of 2025, marine transport modes recorded an impressive 9.7 million users.

In this latest phase of development, RTA has expanded shaded waiting areas by 50% and ensured compliance with Dubai’s Code for People of Determination.

Additionally, the installation of improved lighting and the use of sustainable materials at the marine berth reflect a commitment to eco-friendly practices.

An air-conditioned rest area has also been introduced for operators of traditional wooden abras, enhancing their working environment and operational efficiency.

Both marine stations were developed simultaneously to optimize resources and improve economic efficiency.

These initiatives underscore Dubai’s commitment to enhancing its transport infrastructure and providing a better experience for residents and visitors alike.
