The hotel is seeking a dedicated Assistant Laundry Manager to oversee daily laundry operations and services. This full‑time position plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient processing of linen for both guest rooms and the Food and Beverage/Culinary Department, all while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day laundry operations, ensuring quality standards and customer expectations are met.
  • Supervise and manage laundry employees, understanding their roles well enough to perform duties in their absence.
  • Communicate the importance of safety procedures, ensuring employee understanding and compliance.
  • Oversee budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports to assist in financial management.
  • Ensure consistent workflow to minimize peaks and valleys in production.
  • Order and manage necessary supplies, ensuring workers have the tools and uniforms necessary to perform their jobs.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering department on laundry equipment maintenance needs.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, communicating clear and consistent messages regarding departmental goals.
  • Operate department equipment as necessary and report malfunctions.
  • Develop and maintain effective backup plans for equipment breakdowns.

  • Evaluate and implement new techniques, supplies, and equipment to improve efficiency.
  • Lead and maintain the productivity level of employees, encouraging mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.
  • Provide services that exceed customer expectations, improving service by understanding guest needs and providing guidance when needed.
  • Ensure employee success and recognition, managing performance appraisals and disciplinary procedures as necessary.
  • Administer hotel policies fairly and consistently, supporting the Peer Review Process.
  • Celebrate successes and publicly recognize team members’ contributions.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of experience in laundry, housekeeping, or a related professional area.
