key responsibilities:
- Laundry Collection and Sorting: Gathering soiled linens, towels, and uniforms from various hotel departments, and sorting them by color, fabric type, and level of soiling to ensure optimal washing procedures.
- Laundry Processing: Inspecting items for stains and damage, applying pre-treatment solutions as necessary; weighing laundry loads to prevent overloading; and operating commercial washing machines and dryers with precision.
- Quality Control and Presentation: Folding and stacking clean linens, towels, and garments according to established standards; operating pressing and ironing equipment to achieve a professional finish; and preparing guest laundry for return with meticulous attention to detail.
- Inventory Management and Maintenance: Maintaining an accurate inventory of laundry supplies, notifying management when stock levels are low; and assisting with regular inventory counts of linens to track stock levels and identify shortages.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of one year of experience in hotel operations, preferably within the housekeeping or laundry department.
- Exceptional problem-solving, administrative, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
