Sharjah Offers Up to 35% Discount on Traffic Fines Paid Within 60 Days

Sharjah has announced a new initiative allowing drivers to receive up to a 35% discount on traffic fines if they pay within 60 days of the offense.

This discount applies to the financial penalties, vehicle storage fees, and any late charges.

For payments made after the 60-day period but within one year, a 25% discount will be available on the financial penalty only. However, it is important to note that this discount does not apply to serious traffic violations.

The decision was made during a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council, chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

The council also approved a 50% discount on government fees for entrepreneurs across 88 different economic projects.

This discount scheme was first introduced in 2023, and similar programs are available in Abu Dhabi, where motorists can benefit from year-round reductions on their fines.
