The Afseh Platform

The declaration process can be quickly completed through the Afseh platform, accessible at declare.customs.ae or via the Afseh mobile app, available for both Apple and Android devices. This service is operated by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP).

Who Needs to Declare?

All passengers aged 18 and above are required to declare their items if the total value exceeds Dh60,000. This rule applies specifically to those traveling through Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, or Ras Al Khaimah international airports.

Step-by-Step Declaration Process

  1. Create an Account:
    • Visit the Afseh website and log in using your UAE Pass. Your personal information, including UAE visa details and Emirates ID, will be filled in automatically.
    • For residents, you’ll need to provide details such as your emirate, city, district, street name, and mobile number. Non-residents will need to input similar information relevant to their home country.
  2. Fill Out the Customs Declaration Form:
    • After logging in, navigate to your dashboard and click on “Apply for a new declaration request.”
    • Enter your travel details, including type of travel, date, emirate of arrival/departure, and transportation type.
    • Choose the type of items you are declaring—whether cash, personal goods, jewelry, or precious stones—and specify the amount.
  3. Await Approval:
    • Once submitted, your request will be reviewed by the ICP. If approved, you will receive an SMS notification. You can track your application status directly on the Afseh platform.

Cost and Accessibility

The declaration service is completely free, making it accessible for all travelers. Approved declarations will be visible in the “Approved Requests” section of your dashboard.

By following these guidelines, travelers can ensure a smooth journey while complying with UAE regulations regarding cash and valuables.
