GCC Citizens and Residents Can Now Perform Umrah Anytime

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia has announced that citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can now perform Umrah at any time of the year.
Entry is permitted through all land, air, and sea ports, streamlining the pilgrimage process for GCC nationals.

Convenience and Accessibility
- Permits: Umrah permits can be easily obtained through the official Nusuk application.
- Eligibility: Residents of GCC countries, not just citizens, can also perform Umrah using various types of visas, including:
- Umrah visas available via nusuk.sa.
- Transit visas issued in partnership with Saudi Airlines and Flynas (accessible through their respective websites).
- Tourist visas obtainable through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ official portal (ksavisa.sa).

Requirements for Pilgrims
To access the holy sites, all pilgrims—whether citizens or residents—must obtain a prior permit through the Nusuk app for Umrah and for praying in Rawdah Al Sharifah, the sacred chamber in the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.
Important Dates and Guidelines
- Resumption of Umrah Visas: On June 10, Saudi Arabia resumed issuing Umrah visas to international pilgrims, with Nusuk permits starting from June 11.
- Umrah Season Calendar:
- The ministry will stop accepting applications for qualifications of external agents.
- Contracts with Umrah companies will be approved and documented on the first day of Shaaban of the following year.
- Last Date for Issuing Umrah Visas: First of Shawwal.
- Last Date for Pilgrims to Enter: 15th of Shawwal.
- Last Date for Pilgrims to Leave the Kingdom: First of Dhul Qi’dah.
This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to enhance the pilgrimage experience and facilitate easier access to religious rites for GCC citizens and residents.
