This year marks the 21st consecutive implementation of the ban, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to occupational health and safety standards.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) reported an impressive compliance rate of over 99%, showcasing the strong social responsibility within the UAE’s business community.

Mohsen Al Nassi, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Inspection and Compliance Sector, highlighted the importance of safeguarding workers, stating that the ban exemplifies the advanced awareness surrounding human capital in the workplace.
The Ministry will conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to the ban, with companies required to provide shaded rest areas, sufficient hydration, and first aid kits.
However, exceptions exist for essential services that cannot be paused, such as emergency repairs or specific construction activities, which must be authorized by relevant authorities.
MoHRE encourages the public to report any violations, with fines reaching AED 5,000 per worker for non-compliance, up to a maximum of AED 50,000 for multiple infractions.
This initiative not only aims to protect workers but also aligns with the UAE’s “We the UAE 2031” vision for a thriving, inclusive society.
