The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has activated the largest cooling system in the world in preparation for the 1446 Hajj season.

This advanced system is designed to ensure a comfortable environment for the millions of pilgrims visiting during this peak period.

Key Features of the Cooling System

Cooling Capacity

  • Total Capacity: The system has an impressive cooling capacity of 155,000 tons.
  • Stations:
    • Al-Shamiya Station: 120,000 tons capacity.
    • Ajyad Station: 35,000 tons capacity.

These stations together provide comprehensive coverage of the entire mosque complex, including all expansion areas.

  • Comfortable Conditions: The cooling system maintains moderate temperatures ranging from 22°C to 24°C, ensuring a pleasant experience for pilgrims.

Maintenance and Management

  • Proactive Maintenance: Continuous maintenance is being conducted by the Haram Authority, which includes:
    • Replacement of key components.
    • Securing work sites.
