GASTAT: Saudi Families Occupy 4.4 Million Homes

The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has announced that the number of homes occupied by Saudi families has reached 4.4 million, reflecting an increase of 233,000 homes compared to the 2022 census, resulting in a growth rate of 2.7%.

• Percentage of Occupied Housing: Saudi families occupy 50.6% of the total housing.
• Average Family Size: The average size of a Saudi family is 4.9 individuals.

Types of Housing

• Apartments: Represent the highest occupancy at 45%.
• Villas: Follow at 31% of the total housing occupied by Saudi families.

• Reinforced Concrete: Used in 90% of the housing occupied by Saudi families.

Age of Housing

• Age Range: Homes aged 10 to 19 years constitute the highest percentage, at 35.1%.

Housing Area

• Size Range: The most common housing area is 150 to 299 square meters, accounting for 44.7% of occupied housing.

Room Count

• Number of Rooms: Homes with 4 to 6 rooms represent 57% of the total.
• Bedrooms: Homes with 3 bedrooms or fewer make up 69.1% of the total occupied housing.
