How It Works

The nol card, essential for accessing the Metro, buses, trams, and even for parking and shopping, can now be managed through the official nol Pay app.

This app allows users not only to digitize their cards but also to link it with their Emirates ID for a personalized experience.

For Samsung Users: Following a partnership between Samsung and RTA, users can easily digitize their Silver and Gold nol cards. The process involves updating the nol Pay app and following a few simple steps to transfer card data via Near Field Communication (NFC).

Users will need to place their physical card on the back of their Samsung phone to complete the transition. Once digitized, the physical card becomes invalid.

For Huawei Users: Huawei has offered digital nol cards since 2020, accessible via the Huawei Wallet app. Similar to Samsung, the steps are straightforward, allowing users to sync their existing nol card data into their mobile wallet.

Limitations and Future Prospects

Currently, iPhone users do not have access to digital nol cards through the Apple Wallet. However, they can still store their Dubai-registered driving licenses and vehicle registration cards digitally.
