Minister of Hajj and Umrah Inspects Preparations for Hajj 2025

Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, has conducted inspections at various sites in the Holy Sites to ensure readiness for the upcoming Hajj season in 2025.

Key Inspection Highlights

Facilities and Infrastructure

  • Kadana Al Wadi Towers: Al-Rabiah reviewed the readiness of these towers, which signify a significant transformation in accommodation for pilgrims in Mina.
  • New Projects: The minister inspected several projects by Kadana Development Company aimed at enhancing the environment of the holy sites, including:
    • Emergency Hospital: A new facility in Mina with a capacity of 200 beds.
    • Emergency Centers: 71 centers established along pedestrian paths in the holy sites.

Enhancements for Pilgrims

  • Shading and Cooling: Projects include shading and cooling of 85,000 square meters around the Namirah Mosque, featuring 320 canopies and 350 misting fans.
  • Restroom Upgrades: The first phase of the restroom system development in Mina will replace 2,116 restrooms with 61 modern two-story complexes that will provide more than 5,600 restrooms.
  • Green Initiatives: As part of the Green Sites Project, 20,000 trees have been planted over 290,000 square meters to enhance green spaces in line with the Saudi Green Initiative.

Ongoing Coordination

These inspections are part of a collaborative effort between various government agencies, including the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Kadana Development Company, to ensure comprehensive readiness for Hajj rituals.

Pilgrim Arrivals

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has reported the arrival of over 600,000 pilgrims through various land, air, and seaports, accounting for about 42% of the total expected pilgrim visas for this year. This indicates a rapid increase in arrivals from outside Saudi Arabia.
