Key Initiatives
Road Cooling Initiative
- Expansion: The Road Cooling Initiative has been expanded by 82%, paving over 84,000 square meters in the Arafat area.
- Purpose: This initiative addresses the “Urban Heat Island Effect,” where roads absorb and release heat, contributing to increased energy consumption and air pollution.
- Cool Pavements: Made from locally produced materials, these pavements reflect solar radiation and can lower surface temperatures by approximately 12 degrees Celsius while increasing radiation reflection by 30% to 40% compared to traditional pavements.
