Dubai: New Policies for Health, Family, and Education

Dubai has approved a series of new policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for its residents, focusing on healthcare, education, family welfare, and smart buildings.

The announcement, made following a meeting of The Executive Council of Dubai chaired by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

A key component of the plan is a significant expansion of Dubai’s healthcare infrastructure, with plans for three new hospitals and 33 primary healthcare centers by 2033.

These facilities will prioritize newly developed residential areas and be established through public-private partnerships.

The healthcare strategy also includes improvements to mental health and rehabilitative services coverage, and initiatives to attract medical talent.

In education, the Policy on Empowering Emirati Students in Private Education aims to ensure that 100% of Emirati students attend schools rated “Good” or above, with parental satisfaction exceeding 90%.

This will be achieved through school improvement programs, tailored education models, and an expansion of the Dubai Distinguished Students Program.

Family welfare will be enhanced through the establishment of a Unified Center for Family Care, offering integrated services for counselling, child protection, and social guidance.

Finally, the Dubai Smart Buildings Policy outlines standards for buildings that utilize renewable energy, intelligent water networks, and automated climate control, aiming to reduce power and water consumption while enhancing resident satisfaction.

While currently voluntary, the policy is expected to be supported by future incentives for developers.
