GASTAT: 242,000 Saudis Among 966,000 Workers in the Tourism Sector

The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has reported that the total number of individuals employed in tourism activities in Saudi Arabia reached 966,500 during the fourth quarter of 2024.
This marks a 4% increase from the same quarter in 2023, when the number was 929,400.

Employment Overview
- Workers in tourism represent 5.5% of all economic activities in Q4 2024, down from 5.8% in Q4 2023.
- In the private sector, tourism employment accounts for 8.2%, a decrease of 0.8% from the previous year.

- Approximately 56% in Q4 2024, down from 60.2% in Q4 2023, attributed to an increase in licensed hotels.
