The report, which evaluates 146 cities worldwide, emphasizes the growing importance of smart urban strategies in enhancing livability.
Notable contenders emerging in the report include AlUla in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait City, and Manama in Bahrain, reflecting their progress in urban planning.
However, the report also raises concerns about declining housing affordability globally, affecting many urban residents.
The index, titled “The Housing Affordability Challenge: A Growing Concern in Smart Cities,” assesses factors influencing housing costs, including rising tariffs and economic pressures.
