KD 1,548 average Kuwaitis salary in govt & KD 1,286 in private sectors

The salaries scales of citizens and residents in Kuwait recorded varying increases by the end of the first quarter of 2022, reports Al-Anba daily.

The average monthly salary of a citizen rose to 1,504 dinars on an annual basis, while the average salary of an expatriate was 342 dinars.
Giving a detailed account, the daily said the average salary of citizens increased by 25 dinars at the end of March 2022, reading about 1,504 dinars, compared to 1,479 dinars at the end of March 2021.
The increase in the salaries of citizens working in the private sector was more than 4 times greater than those working in the government sector, at 65 dinars for workers in the first sector and 14 dinars for the “government”, as the average salary of a citizen in the government sector at the end of March 2022 was 1,548 dinars, compared to 1,534 dinars at the end of March 2021, while the average salary of a citizen in the private sector was 1,286 dinars per month at the end of last March, compared to 1,221 dinars at the end of March 2022.
As for non-Kuwaitis, their average salaries increased from the end of March 2021 to the end of March 2022 by 18 dinars, to increase from 324 to 342 dinars per month, and expatriates working in the government sector recorded an increase in their average monthly salary by about 19 dinars to 741 dinars per month, compared to 722 dinars at the end of March 2021; while expatriates working in the private sector recorded an increase in their average monthly salaries by 17 dinars to 321 dinars at the end of last March, compared to 304 dinars, their average salary at the end of March 2021.
In a related context, labor market data showed a decrease in the number of expatriates with general secondary certificates and below by 8.5%, including 108,000 male and female migrants, during 12 months, as their number reached 1.177 million at the end of last March, compared to 1.28 million at the end of March 2021.
In terms of residents who hold a high school diploma or its equivalent, their numbers decreased by 9.4%, including 33.65 thousand residents, to 322.76 last March, compared to 356.4 at the end of March 2021.
Their number increased from 772.15 at the end of March 2021 to 717.23 for the same period in 2022. As for expatriates with a primary qualification, their numbers decreased by 20.6 thousand or about 14%, to reach 129.9 thousand by the end of March 2022, compared to 150.57 thousand men and women at the end of March 2021.
The number of expatriates who hold a university degree and above university increased by 19.6 thousand, as their numbers at the end of March 2021 amounted to 209.48 thousand, including 197.37 university students and 12.1 thousand above university, compared to 229.1 thousand expatriates and expatriates at the end of March 2022, including 214.85 Alpha undergraduates, 14.24 above undergraduates.
