In August 2025, the airport saw a 6.4% increase in passenger traffic compared to the same month in 2024. Notably, 1.3 million of these passengers were point-to-point travelers, representing a 12% year-on-year growth in this segment.

This trend underscores the increasing demand for direct flights to and from Qatar and highlights the aviation sector’s role as a vital contributor to the country’s diverse economy.

This accomplishment comes on the heels of the 2025 World Airport Traffic Dataset released by Airports Council International (ACI) World, which ranks Hamad International Airport among the busiest international airports globally.

Factors Behind the Growth

The airport’s record performance is attributed to capacity expansion and strong partnerships with airlines. Qatar Airways has boosted its flight frequencies to over 15 key destinations worldwide, enhancing connectivity through its hub.

Additionally, airline partners like Virgin Australia have introduced new services to Doha, while Philippine Airlines and Air Arabia have increased their capacities, providing more travel options for both regional and long-haul markets.

These initiatives have made travel through Hamad International Airport more seamless and convenient for all passengers.

Enhancing Passenger Experience

The surge in traffic has been accompanied by a notable improvement in passenger experience, reflected in consistently positive feedback.

In August, survey responses indicated an impressive overall satisfaction score of 98%. Furthermore, 92% of respondents rated the security processes at key touchpoints as excellent.

With its expanding global network, strategic capacity investments, and a customer-centric approach, Hamad International Airport is solidifying its position as one of the fastest-growing hubs in global air transport.
