Riders Share Views: Is the New Red Line Easing Dubai Metro Crowding?

The new service operates from 7 AM to 9 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM, complementing existing routes. The RTA believes this will help distribute passenger flow, shorten journey times, and reduce crowding, especially at key interchange stations.
Commuters have responded positively to the change. Many have noted shorter wait times, with one user reporting a maximum wait of just four to five minutes for a train.
Others have observed a noticeable reduction in crowding during peak hours, although some expressed a desire for even more significant improvements.
While the new route may not directly impact everyone’s journey, those traveling beyond Al Fardan Exchange Station appreciate the reduced congestion.
Commuters at busy stations like Business Bay and Mall of the Emirates still face challenges during rush hour but acknowledge that the extra route has made a difference.
Overall, riders are hopeful that the new direct route will continue to ease overcrowding on the Dubai Metro, making their daily commutes more manageable.
