Qatar Traffic Police Extends Grace Period for Expired Vehicle Registrations

The General Directorate of Traffic has announced an extension of the grace period for vehicle owners whose registrations have expired beyond the legal limit stipulated in Article (11) of Traffic Law No. 19 of 2007.
Motorists will now have an additional 60 days, effective immediately, to rectify their legal status and renew their licenses.
In a statement published on its official account on Platform X (formerly Twitter), the Ministry of Interior explained that the decision builds on a previous announcement issued on July 27.
The extension aims to give citizens and residents more time to complete the necessary procedures without facing legal penalties or fines.
Officials stressed that after the grace period ends, normal enforcement measures will resume, including fines, possible vehicle impoundments, and other legal consequences for continued violations.
The ministry urged vehicle owners not to delay, highlighting that compliance is necessary for road safety and regulatory order.
