In August, petrol prices were as follows:
- Super 98: Dh2.69 per litre (down from Dh2.70 in July)
- Special 95: Dh2.57 per litre (slightly lower than Dh2.58 in July)
- E-Plus: Dh2.50 per litre (compared to Dh2.51 in July)
- Diesel: Dh2.78 per litre (up from Dh2.63 last month)
Recent increases in global oil prices, driven by potential interest rate cuts from the US Federal Reserve, have raised expectations for a modest rise in local fuel prices.
Brent crude has reached its highest levels in nearly three weeks, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) has briefly surpassed $64 per barrel.
However, concerns about slowing economic growth may limit significant price hikes. Analysts suggest that while modest increases are likely next month, substantial jumps are improbable unless there is a surge in demand or geopolitical tensions escalate.
For now, UAE drivers can take advantage of the current lower prices at the pump, but should prepare for small increases ahead.
