The program aims to provide flexible working options for individuals and small business owners, allowing them to make better use of idle hours while supporting local businesses.

By focusing on on-foot deliveries, the initiative is expected to reduce traffic congestion and lower carbon emissions, aligning with Dubai’s sustainability goals.

This delivery model is part of Dubai’s Sandbox initiative, which seeks to modernize regulations and encourage innovative business practices.

The Gig Economy Sandbox aims to create a flexible legal framework that empowers businesses to hire on-demand workers and facilitates easier operations for freelancers.

While details on how individuals can sign up for the program have not yet been released, the collaboration represents a significant step toward expanding gig work opportunities in the emirate.

This initiative is part of Dubai’s broader Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double the emirate’s economy over the next decade and position it among the world’s top three economic cities.
