Developed entirely in the Kingdom by Saudi talent and hosted on sovereign infrastructure, the launch is being hailed as a turning point for generative AI in the Arab world. It promises to serve over 400 million Arabic speakers and more than two billion Muslims by offering a platform that reflects their language, values, and lived experience.
HUMAIN CEO Tareq Amin described the release as a defining moment for the Kingdom’s tech sector, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s growing capacity to deliver globally competitive technologies rooted in its own infrastructure, data, and identity. He noted that HUMAIN Chat represents the beginning of a larger journey to drive innovation and create economic and social impact.
What sets HUMAIN Chat apart is not only its fluency in Arabic, but its design as a sovereign bilingual AI platform. The app enables seamless switching between Arabic and English, integrates real-time search, supports speech input across multiple Arabic dialects, and ensures user privacy by being fully compliant with Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law.
The underlying ALLAM 34B model was trained on more than eight petabytes of data, the largest known Arabic dataset, and refined by a team of over 600 experts and 250 evaluators. More than 120 AI specialists contributed to the platform’s development, including 35 with doctoral degrees, with the team representing a 50/50 gender split.
Founded in May 2025, HUMAIN operates as a full-stack AI company across infrastructure, cloud, data, models, and applications. Its ecosystem is supported by global partnerships with leading technology firms, including Amazon Web Services, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Cisco, AMD, Groq, and Replit. Additionally, HUMAIN and LUMA AI recently unveiled HUMAIN Create, an AI-native video generation engine for gaming, advertising, and film.
HUMAIN is overseen by a high-profile board chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and includes senior Saudi government officials, PIF executives, and leaders from Saudi Aramco and Sanabil Investments.
The launch of HUMAIN Chat is the first in the company’s IQ product portfolio, which will expand to include AI-native solutions for governments, enterprises, and consumers. As adoption grows, the platform is expected to evolve in real-time, adapting to user needs while reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s role as a global leader in AI innovation.
