Traffic Department Issues Warning on Vehicle Delisting for Expired Registrations

The General Traffic Department has formally alerted vehicle owners to the critical need for timely renewal of their vehicle registrations.

In an official statement, the department clarified that there will be “no exceptions” to the renewal deadline, cautioning that failure to adhere may lead to vehicles being removed from the registry.

Lieutenant Colonel Hamad Ali Al-Muhannadi, Head of the Registration Section at the Licensing Affairs Department, underscored the importance of compliance during an interview on Qatar TV’s “Hayatna” program.

He remarked, “Non-compliance within this timeframe will result in the enforcement of applicable laws. This directive is universally applicable to all vehicles without exception.”

The department has taken steps to facilitate the renewal process, indicating that technical inspections now require only 10 to 15 minutes.

Furthermore, vehicle insurance can be processed online, and the Metrash app has enhanced the renewal experience, allowing users to conveniently view and contest traffic violations.

Vehicle owners with expired registrations are urged to rectify their status within 30 days, effective from July 27, 2025.

This directive specifically targets individuals whose registrations have exceeded the legal limits established in Article (11) of Traffic Law No. (19) of 2007.

As the deadline approaches, vehicle owners are advised to act swiftly to avoid potential penalties and ensure compliance with traffic regulations.
