The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, in collaboration with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), has introduced an updated Table of Food Law Violations aimed at enhancing food safety and improving regulatory compliance among food establishments.

Key Features of the Updated Table

• Focus on Fairness: The updated classifications consider the size of the establishment and the type of economic activity, ensuring fair application of penalties. This approach encourages small and medium enterprises to comply without discrimination.
• Gradual Implementation: A mechanism for gradual implementation of procedures is established. Minor violations will receive warnings and a corrective grace period, while serious violations affecting consumer safety will incur immediate penalties.
