This holiday is celebrated on the 12th of Rabi Al Awwal in the Hijri calendar, and the announcement follows the official moon sighting that confirmed the start of Rabi Al Awwal on August 25.
Private sector employees will join their public sector counterparts, who also have the same holiday schedule.
The decision reflects the UAE’s unified holiday policy, ensuring all workers receive equal breaks throughout the year.
In a notable occurrence, the UAE and Saudi Arabia will celebrate the Prophet’s birthday on different days this year, due to differing moon sighting results.
This holiday offers an opportunity for reflection and community gathering among residents, as many observe this significant religious occasion.
