Ajman Unveils Upgraded Sheikh Zayed Street in Al Helio

Ajman: The Municipality and Planning Department, in collaboration with Ajman Police, officially inaugurated the upgraded Sheikh Zayed Street in the Al Helio area on July 11, 2025.

This significant project, costing Dh63 million, spans 2.8 kilometers and aims to alleviate traffic congestion while supporting sustainable urban growth.

The initiative reflects the Ajman government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman, and Crown Prince Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi.

It aligns with Ajman Vision 2030, which focuses on creating a modern and environmentally sustainable transportation network.

Key features of the upgrade include expanding the road to three lanes in each direction, installing a new rainwater drainage system, enhancing street lighting, and improving sidewalks and parking facilities.

Additionally, two signalized intersections have been introduced to improve road safety and traffic regulation.

Lt. Col. Fouad Yousef Al Khaja from Ajman Police noted that the new layout will significantly ease congestion in Al Helio, facilitating smoother commutes, especially for drivers heading towards Emirates Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

The project adheres to international standards, ensuring safer and more accessible routes throughout the emirate.
