The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has confirmed that the Kingdom swiftly mobilized resources to maintain global aviation traffic flow as airlines rerouted around conflict zones.
More than 220 air carriers have utilized Saudi air corridors in recent days, positioning the Kingdom as a crucial safe transit zone amid widespread flight disruptions.

Enhanced Air Navigation
To manage the unprecedented demand, GACA has:
- Opened Supplementary Air Corridors: Additional routes have been established to accommodate the influx of flights.
- Activated Emergency Protocols: Advanced navigational technologies and stringent safety and surveillance systems are fully aligned with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.
Crisis Management Response
- Personnel Deployment: Over 1,900 aviation personnel, including 700 certified air traffic controllers, have been deployed.
- Control Infrastructure: The operation is supported by:
- 20 control towers
- 10 approach control centers
- 2 regional control centers overseeing 15 flight sectors
- Navigation Devices: More than 1,200 navigation devices are operational nationwide.
