The new terminal will feature state-of-the-art amenities, including advanced baggage handling systems, electronic gates, and upgraded customs and passport control services, all designed to enhance the passenger experience.
Sheikh Salem emphasized that this development is essential to meet rising demand, particularly as new resorts and hotels are established in the region.
In addition to passenger services, the airport is planning to build a private aviation terminal to cater to luxury travelers and private jet operators. This facility will operate independently from the main terminal.
Construction of the new terminal is expected to be completed by 2028, as part of a broader strategy involving local consultants and aligned with privatization initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
The airport is also introducing eco-friendly technologies, including energy-efficient lighting and water recycling systems, to support sustainability goals.
Recent data shows that Ras Al Khaimah International Airport recorded 332,280 passengers in the first four months of 2025, reflecting a growing interest in the emirate as a travel destination.
The airport aims to further enhance connectivity with additional international carriers as demand continues to rise.
