UAE: How to Apply for 10-Year Blue Residency Visa for Environmental Experts

The UAE has officially launched applications for its 10-year Blue Residency Visa aimed at attracting experts in environmental protection and sustainability.
Announced in May 2024, this long-term visa seeks to bring in professionals who can contribute to the UAE’s environmental, economic, and social development.

Applications can be submitted through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) via their online platform, smartservices.icp.gov.ae.

Eligible candidates include scientists, researchers, investors, and specialists in sustainability and climate change, particularly those who have made significant contributions in these fields.
Required documents include proof of accomplishments in environmental work and a valid passport.
To apply, individuals must first submit a nomination request, which costs Dh350. After approval, they can proceed with the visa application, providing necessary personal and professional details.
For applicants outside the UAE, a six-month multiple-entry visa is required to complete the Blue Residency process, costing Dh1,250.
