A suspicious message is circulating in Qatar, falsely claiming that residents have an unpaid traffic violation, specifically mentioning “Fine No. 5964” and directing them to a dubious link.

The identical nature of these messages, sent to multiple individuals, strongly indicates a phishing scam aimed at the public.

Many recipients have checked their Metrash app, the official platform for government services, only to find no such violations associated with their accounts.

On April 9, 2025, the Ministry of Interior (MOI) Qatar alerted the public via Twitter about the risks of interacting with suspicious links purporting to come from official state institutions.
