The announcement follows a statement from the Ministry of Interior, which emphasized that individuals entering Mecca without a valid Hajj visa or special permit will not be permitted to stay in the city starting April 29.

This policy applies to all visa holders except those officially cleared for pilgrimage or essential work.

Compliance Requirements

The Ministry of Tourism has made it clear that hospitality providers in Mecca are “strictly prohibited” from accommodating anyone who does not meet the official Hajj guidelines as defined by the Ministry of Interior.

Importance of Hajj

The Hajj pilgrimage, one of the five pillars of Islam, attracts millions of Muslims from around the globe each year.

To manage the significant influx of worshippers, Saudi authorities routinely implement comprehensive safety and crowd management protocols.
