Depending on the sighting of the moon, if Eid Al Fitr falls on Sunday, March 30, employees will enjoy a five-day holiday from Friday, March 28, to Tuesday, April 1.
However, if the festival begins on Monday, March 31, employees will benefit from a six-day break from Friday, March 28, to Wednesday, April 2.
Sharjah government employees typically enjoy a longer weekend, as the emirate has implemented a four-day workweek since January 2022, providing Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays off.
This announcement comes alongside earlier declarations from the UAE’s Federal Authority for Government Human Resources regarding Eid holidays for government employees across the country.
As the date approaches, residents are reminded that moon sighting will take place on March 29, marking the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid celebrations.
