Saudi Royal Air Defense Force Commissions First THAAD Missile Defense Unit

The Saudi Royal Air Defense Force has officially launched its first unit of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile system.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Air Defense Forces Institute in Jeddah, as announced by the Ministry of Defense.

- Operational Readiness: The unit was commissioned into service following successful system testing, evaluation, and field training of personnel within the Kingdom.
- Ceremony Attendance: The event was attended by Lt. Gen. Mazyad Al-Amro, Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces, who handed over the unit’s flag to the commander of the 1st Air Defense Group.
