Dubai Launches New Platform for Quick Visa Renewals

Residents in Dubai can now renew their visas quickly and easily thanks to the launch of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) new AI-powered digital platform, Salama.

This innovative tool allows users to complete visa renewals within minutes and download updated documents directly, eliminating the need for paperwork and long wait times.

Upon logging in, the platform automatically recognizes user details, displays dependent visa statuses, and indicates the remaining days until expiration. Applicants can choose their renewal duration, and the request is processed instantly.

Previously, the renewal process could take one to three hours, depending on document completeness. Ghaleb Abdullah Mohammed Hassan Al-Majid, Director of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Department, noted that the time has now been reduced to just one to two minutes when all documents are in order.

Currently, the service is limited to residency visa renewals. Al-Majid indicated that future phases will expand services to visitors, tourists, and business renewals.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, General Director of GDRFA Dubai, highlighted the importance of this digital transformation in enhancing customer experience and government performance, stating that the Salama platform reflects their commitment to adopting the latest technologies for the benefit of Dubai’s residents.
