Originally announced in May 2024, this long-term visa seeks to attract experts in sustainability and climate change to support the UAE’s ongoing environmental, economic, and social development efforts.

It is awarded to key advocates of environmental action, including members of international organizations, NGOs, and recipients of prestigious environmental awards, as well as distinguished activists and researchers.

Application Requirements
Requirements for the Blue Residency Visa vary according to the applicant’s background, but all applicants must submit documents that demonstrate their achievements in sustainability and environmental protection.
Mandatory documents include:
- Proof of work and accomplishments in environmental fields
- A valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining
- A recent passport-sized photograph with a white background
Application Process
To apply for the Blue Residency Visa, follow these steps:
- Nomination Request: Submit a nomination request or be nominated by a competent authority in the UAE. The nomination request serves as initial approval for the visa application, with a fee of Dh350.
- Visa Application: Once your nomination is approved, proceed with your visa application. If you are already a UAE resident, update your visa status accordingly. Provide personal details, including your identification information and upload the required documents.
- Payment: Complete the payment for the visa service fee.
Applicants outside the UAE who have been nominated will need to apply for a six-month multiple-entry visa to facilitate the Blue Residency process, costing Dh1,250.
