UAE Expands Visa-on-Arrival Policy for Indian Passport Holders

The visa-on-arrival process in the UAE has become more accessible for certain Indian passport holders. Now, Indian citizens with valid tourist visas or residence permits from the European Union (EU), the United States (US), or the United Kingdom (UK) can obtain a visa upon arrival in the UAE.

Since 2017, Indian nationals who held a valid US visa or Green Card, along with residency permits from the EU or UK, were eligible for this convenience.

Recently, in 2024, the UAE broadened this policy to include Indian nationals holding valid tourist visas from these regions, further facilitating their travel.

Eligibility Criteria

Indian citizens and their family members, holding ordinary passports, can access the visa-on-arrival at all UAE entry points if they meet the following conditions:

  • Possess a valid tourist visa, residence permit, or Green Card issued by the US.
  • Hold a valid tourist visa or residence permit issued by EU countries or the UK.

Note: All documents, including the visa, permit, and passport, must have a validity of at least six months.

Duration of Stay

Two types of visas are available under this policy:

  1. 14-Day Visa on Arrival
    • This option can be extended for an additional 14 days (fees apply).
    • Cost: Dh100 for the initial visa, Dh250 for the extension.
  2. 60-Day Visa on Arrival
    • This is a non-extendable option, suitable for longer stays.
    • Cost: Dh250.

Application Process

To arrange your visa on arrival, applicants must apply online in advance through the following platforms:
