SFDA Takes Action Against Expat for Selling Unregistered Medicine

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has referred an expatriate in Dammam to the Public Prosecution for selling unregistered pharmaceutical products, violating the Saudi Law of Pharmaceutical and Herbal Establishments and Preparations.

According to Article 34, Paragraph 2, anyone who sells, dispenses, or possesses unregistered, expired, or adulterated medicines for trade may face up to 10 years in prison, a fine of SR10 million, or both.
The SFDA emphasized that such violations endanger public health and that strict legal penalties will be enforced. Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious activities at licensed facilities by calling 19999.
