HR Ministry Detects 1,910 Midday Work Ban Violations in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, Sept. 1, 2025: The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) announced that its inspection teams detected 1,910 violations of the midday outdoor work ban during the summer period from June 15 to Aug. 26, 2025.

More than 17,000 field inspections were carried out across the Kingdom to ensure establishments complied with the regulation, which prohibits outdoor work under direct sunlight during peak midday hours.

The ministry also confirmed that it had received over 300 reports of potential violations, all of which were addressed within the specified timeframe.

Awareness and Preventive Efforts

In partnership with the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, the ministry intensified awareness campaigns by releasing educational materials and safety guidelines for workers and employers.

The aim was to enhance compliance with occupational safety and health (OSH) standards and ensure safe working conditions.

The MHRSD emphasized that these measures are part of a broader framework to:

  • Protect workers during peak summer heat hours
  • Promote a preventive safety culture
  • Achieve full compliance with labor regulations
  • Improve the overall work environment in line with Vision 2030 goals

The ministry reiterated its call for establishments to prioritize the health and safety of employees, noting that strict compliance is vital to reducing risks and safeguarding lives.
