King Orders Awarding King Abdulaziz Medal and SR1 Million Reward to Maher Al-Dalbahi for Bravery

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, has directed the awarding of the King Abdulaziz Medal of the First Class and a financial reward of SR1 million to young Saudi man Maher Al-Dalbahi.

This recognition comes on the recommendation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his heroic actions in averting a potential gas station explosion.

Heroic Actions

Maher Al-Dalbahi demonstrated remarkable bravery by:

  • Preventing a Disaster: He averted a catastrophe that could have led to numerous fatalities when a fire broke out in a truck loaded with fodder at a gas station in Al-Jamsh, Al-Dawadmi governorate.
  • Quick Decision-Making: Upon witnessing the flames engulfing the truck, which had been abandoned by its driver, Al-Dalbahi swiftly climbed into the vehicle and drove it away from the fuel tanks.
  • Sustaining Injuries: In the process of his brave rescue, Al-Dalbahi suffered multiple burns and was subsequently admitted to the hospital.
