Etihad Rail to Launch in 2026, Connecting Dubai and Abu Dhabi in Under an Hour

The UAE’s first intercity passenger railway, Etihad Rail, is set to launch in 2026, significantly reducing travel time between Dubai and Abu Dhabi to under 60 minutes.

As part of the broader UAE National Rail Network, the service will enhance daily commuting, promote tourism, and support sustainable economic growth.

The high-speed trains will travel at speeds of up to 200 km/h, offering a fast and environmentally friendly alternative to driving, thereby reducing carbon emissions.
The rail line will include major stops in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, with plans for future expansions to connect additional cities.
